  Avoid the fire and brimstone
November 29, 2009
Just like God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, he will destroy this world with fire. Thankfully, for the sake of God's mercy and for the sake of our mediator, Jesus Christ, we will avoid the fire and brimstone.
  Jesus still rules!
November 22, 2009
Jesus our King is in control of everything, even when things seem to be spinning out of control. What comfort that is when problems and challenges confront us!
How do we deal with death?
November 15, 2009
It is said that Christians are so heavenly-minded that they are of no earthly good. Being heavenly-minded is exactly what makes us of tremendous earthly good as we deal with death and help others do the same.
  God won't forget!

Even though we cannot observe God's justice at work in this world, God won't forget about his Day of Judgment that is to come. And he doesn't want us to forget about it either!

September 27, 2009

September 20, 2009
Your vocation in Christ, the place where God delights in you and where you are wedded to Jesus truly is the happiest place on earth!
September 13, 2009
In spite of all of the extraordinary things God says about our vocation, life is often difficult and disappointing. But even in the challenges and struggles of our vocation God works extraordinary good.
September 6, 2009
No matter what our vocation is, it is meaningful and valuable. Whenever we are kind and helpful to others out of love for Jesus, it is like being kind to the Lord himself.
August 30, 2009
Where does God hide in the world? He hides behind you, as he wears you as his mask to dispense blessings, wherever you go and whatever you do in Christ.
August 23, 2009
The story of the Good Samaritan transforms our perspective of what vocation is all about. No matter how well we plan our daily events, everything depends on the neighbors God places in front of us!
What does the perfect body look like? Paul tells us as he compares the church, and the perfect way God has arranged it, with the human body.

July 19, 2009
Familiarity can breed contempt, and spiritual authority can prompt others to challenge, "Who do you think you are?" God tells us exactly who we are in Christ!
  You won't die...
he will.

July 12, 2009
Death is a difficult thing to deal with, especially when it seems completely unfair. But our gracious God is able to take even something as horrible as death and use it for our good.
  Weathering the storms of life
July 5, 2009
Our faith endures many challenges. It is difficult to put trust in God who claims to be in control of all things when things seem so out of control. However, the same God who commands the wind and the waves has control of the storms in our lives.
  Power comes in small packages
June 28, 2009
It's not about programs, packaging or personalities. The gospel itself packs all the power of God to change hearts and to transform lives for Christ.
  Satan is on God's leash
June 21, 2009
Who is in control? Very often it seems as though the forces of evil have an upper hand in the world. However, things aren't always as they seem. God promised to defeat the devil and delivered on that promise by sending his Son, Jesus into the world.
  Working hard or hardly working?
June 14, 2009

Need a day off? Life's frantic pace often leaves us exhausted. Thankfully, when it comes to our salvation, there is nothing to do. Everything has been done. The rest provided by the Old Testament Sabbath Day reminds us of the true and eternal rest we have in Jesus.
  Absolutely no exceptions whatsoever
June 7, 2009

Through the work of our Triune God, rules that have absolutely no exceptions whatsoever are broken. The Father reveals his love for us through his Son. The Spirit causes us to be born again in baptism.

May 10, 2009
God has given every Christian various blessings and placed them in various situations. The Christian in turn serves God wherever he is and in whatever situation he is placed.
He's still good.
May 3, 2009

One of the most familiar and well-loved pictures of the work of our Savior Jesus is that of a shepherd. As our shepherd, he keeps us safe from our enemies, feeds us through the gospel, and lays down his life for his sheep. Unlike a hired hand, he does not abandon us when we are in need.
From Genesis to Revelation: It's all about Jesus
April 26, 2009
You can read the whole Bible and still miss what it's all about. It's not mere human myths and legends and ancient stories. It's the divinely inspired word of God, from start to finish.
Straight talk
April 19, 2009

Easter paves the road beyond the cemetery
April 12, 2009
We sing at Easter "I know that my Reedemer lives - what comfort this sweet sentence gives." And without a doubt Easter brings wonderful comfort for life and for eternity.
  Sing Hosanna to our King
April 5, 2009

Jesus rode into Jerusalem in humility on a donkey as the King of kings and Lord of lords. He came to the shouts of the people’s hosannas and waving of palm branches. He came to stretch out his palms on the cross to save us from our sins.

Christ is the cause of our salvation
March 29, 2009
The Lord has provided a very simple cause and effect for our salvation. It is not anything that we do. It has all been done for us.

March 22, 2009
Are you a complainer? A whiner? You know that the Lord wants you to be a thankful person.
  Consumed with cleaning

People like to keep their houses clean - some more than others. When Jesus arrived at his Father's house, he saw how dirty it was. And because he loved his Father's house so much, he was consumed with cleaning it.
Our God has done it all!
March 8, 2009

When we are helpless to save ourselves, our God in love took it upon himself to save us, even though he knew what type of people we are. He changed us and made us his dear children through Jesus.

The test of love
March 1, 2009

What's really at stake in this test of love? It's more than the faith of a man and the life of a boy.

  An amazing catch...and release
January 25, 2009

Fish don't like to be caught. Sometimes they're not hungry. Sometimes they aren't fooled by the bait. Sometimes you get them on the hook, but they wiggle their way free. Despite that fact, when Jesus walked along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, fishing for followers, he made an amazing catch...and release.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening
January 18, 2009

The LORD calls people to listen to him and his word of salvation, and to serve him with their lives. Some people hear the words, but do not recognize the voice, or reject the voice of God and do their own thing. When the LORD calls, he calls to repentance and he calls to announce his forgiveness that comes through Jesus. Say with Samuel, "Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening."

On the razor's edge of truth
January 4, 2009

At Christmas we celebrate two miracles: God took on human flesh. God has revealed it to us through his Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, not everyone is interested in the Savior that God provides. As it was back then, so today people are divided because of Jesus.
