Mary's having a baby

Having a child is something natural and normal for married ladies. Sometimes sin gets in the way and young ladies have children outside of marriage, but even here it is natural. Mary had a baby by means of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous way. This baby is our Savior.

The Reformation, begun by Martin Luther, was built on the solid foundation of God's Word. It was about correcting the errors in the church of that day. It turned into the establishment of a new church body, Lutherans. This group stood firm on the facts of Scripture that it is by God's grace alone that we are saved through faith alone, as it is revealed and verified in Scripture alone.

You will find the word "holy" used often in the Bible. Often it is used to refer to God. However, the word holy is used also to refer to God's people. And that is comforting!
